The Beginning

WordCamp Seattle began in 2009 with the efforts of Calvin Freitas, Josh Harrison, Bean Fairbanks, Dan & Lisa Smith, and other dedicated WordPress lovers to bring a WordCamp conference to Seattle. The first WordCamp Seattle occurred in October 2009 and was attended by 200+ people.

The Present

Josh Harrison and Calvin Freitas lead efforts to launch a second iteration of the conference: WordCamp Seattle 2011. They’ve been joined in their efforts by Mark McLaren, Nick Ohrn, and Red Russak.
