If you came out of WordCamp Seattle and are looking for even more developer focused topics, our neighbors to the north have an event you may be interested in.

WordCamp: Developers is an one-day non-profit conference by developers for developers. Held in Vancouver, BC, WordCamp: Developers is slated to take place on May 5, 2011. Tickets are $40.

The conference will feature 2 tracks, one targeting WordPress UX topics and issues, and the other targeting strictly development issues. The day will also be host to a WordPress Un-Conference where participants are encouraged to pitch talks and join in discussion. Learn more…

WordCamp Seattle 2011 Tickets

Purchase tickets for WordCamp Seattle 2011. We have 300 tickets for WordCamp Seattle on sale now through EventBrite and we expect these to sell fast. We sold three before we even announced they were on sale (and five more from a tweet while I was writing this post)!

Come to WordCamp Seattle to hear from national bestselling author and speaker Scott Berkun who works on WordPress, and listen to an interview with Alex King about how he built his business by creating tools for WordPress. Speakers at the event will cover topics including WordPress theme creation, plugin development, running a business on WordPress, blogging, social media, marketing, and more.

Call for Speakers

We are now accepting proposals from those of you who would like to take the stage at WordCamp Seattle on April 16. We invite all those who are interested to submit a topic to speak on. Please feel free to suggest somebody that you would be interested in hearing.

Please keep your topics centered around WordPress. We know there is lots of interest in how people are using WordPress, security, BuddyPress, themes, plugins, etc. The organizers will select topics to create a well-rounded day for those attending.

August Seattle WordPress Meetup

A few weeks ago, we put out a call to get some help finding a venue for a meetup this month. With the help of a few members in the community, we have been able to organize something.

We are excited to announce that we will be starting once again to have WordPress meetups here in Seattle. Did I mention that we are very excited about it.

The August Seattle WordPress meetup is scheduled for Wednesday, August 11 from 6:30 to 8:00 at StartPad in Seattle. The address is 811 First Avenue, Suite 480 Seattle, WA 98104. Free parking on the street after 6pm.

The purpose of this meetup is to just get people together that want to talk WordPress. We’ll announce more details as they come. We have every intention to meet monthly. See ya there!
